Abstract: An important requirement of interactive mobile applications is the ability for both the sender and the receiver to exchange short text messages. A major obstacle in standard short messaging service is its inability to send back a part of received data with the reply message. This limitation results in users of such mobile applications being unable to reply back to the correct destination as the mobile communication gateway handles sending out information of several users through a single communication channel. In this paper, we propose a messaging system to provide an interactive two way text messaging by concealing data. A specific port associated with short messaging service is used to send concealed data in the message body itself. Subsequently, software installed in the user’s mobile device captures this message and sends back the reply message pertaining to a part or full of the concealed data. Results indicate the relevance and interoperability of the proposed technique.
