|Abstract: ||Fusion Book (FB) is an invention which completed in the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) as a final year
project, based on the Augmented Reality Technology. Recent progress in display technologies allows the development of electronic
books covering better visual quality for reading. This continues a long line of advances aimed at enhancing the traditional printed
book with electronic features: audio book, multimedia CD ROM book, online interactive book, electronic book readers, etc. But those
users still love the physicality of a real book, which covers a broad range of advantages: transportability, flexibility, robustness, etc.
The motivation of the team’s work is to consider about those issues and invent an Augmented Reality technology based book
prototype. To do this task the team examines the past experiences and other researches, which are related to the Augmented Reality
technology. As the name implies in Fusion Book the reality system has to combine with the interactive computer-generated world in
such a way that they appear as one environment. As the user moves around the real object, the virtual (i.e. computer generated) one
reacts as it is completely integrated with the real world. Because, the computer generated delusion objects interact with real physical
items and the Fusion Book allows users to feel fantasy on top of an actual book in a real-time manner. Definitely this product will
enhance the feel and the familiarity of the user. Even though this is a product, which is focused to give insightful educational
programs, this can be used to advance the amusement of the user as well.|
