Abstract: Present day social media has been a major way of communication and spread of news and ideas. New ideas, trends generation is mostly happening through the social media. Even though there are some social network analysis (SNA) done among various areas of social networks there is a necessary of research to extract the root of ideas generation or the top nodes where the new influential ideas, news and trends are generated and spread. Research has been done to achieve this by extracting the public posts of Facebook users and extracting the network topology. Then by applying the centrality metrics for the topology the connections among the nodes are identified. To identify the information flow of the extracted network Transfer entropy is used. Then the most influential nodes are identified. These identified influential nodes are then published to identify the key idea generators and information spreaders to find business value. Methodology of the research is expressed under the Methodology of the report found in the later part of the document.
